| Home Security Tips: 1. Keep your doors and windows locked. 2. Keep your garage door closed and locked. 3. Leave lights on when you go out. 4. Lower the ringer on your telephone so the sound cannot be heard from outside. 5. Never leave keys in a “secret hiding place”. 6. Report all suspicious vehicles and activities. If possible write down license plate numbers. 7. Communicate with your neighbors – a good neighbor is the best crime prevention tool. Going on vacation? 1. Fill out a Vacation Watch form and give to the sheriffs department. 2. Put your lights on an automatic timer set to turn on in the evening and off at bedtime. 3. Have a neighbor pick up your newspaper and mail, or notify the paper and post office to discontinue delivery while you are gone. 4. Make arrangements to have your lawn mowed while you are gone. 5. Ask a neighbor to keep an eye on your home and give them a key in case of an emergency. 6. Don’t tell strangers about your travel plans. Vehicle Security Tips: 1. Always lock your vehicles. 2. Never leave anything valuable in your vehicle (i.e. cell phones, money, wallets, purses, etc.) 3. If you must leave something in your car lock it in your trunk. 4.
