Middlegate Village

The Middlegate board wants to update everyone on the pool and park. The park will reopen this weekend.

Under the current circumstances, there are many things to consider before the pool is ready and SAFE for use. Repairs are being made, new supplies and personnel costs are being budgeted, and new safety guidelines are being fine-tuned.

The pool area is undergoing required maintenance.  New lights, lifeguard equipment, pump and filter equipment are all part of this upkeep. In addition, costs for increased cleaning materials and staff to maintain new cleaning standards have found their way into the pool season budget.

SCS and the board ask you to review possible pool rules and to understand them as essential for your health and safety. Some of these rules will be in place WHEN and IF the pool opens. A final list of guidelines will be posted and distributed IF the pool opens.

IF the pool opens: During the first phase of opening, the pool capacity will be 15-40 persons.  This capacity is subject to change based on staffing, local and state government, and CDC guidelines.
A liability waiver will need to be signed for each adult and minor in your household who will enter the pool area.
Residents must carry ID to allow the gate guard to match it to waiver.
Guest privileges may be suspended.
Pool parties are suspended.
All residents should wear a face covering when not in the water.
Each resident must maintain 6 feet of social distancing with residents from other households.
No furniture will be provided.  Residents may bring chairs for personal use.
Restroom shared usage is restricted to residents of same household.
No food is allowed in the pool area.
No pool or flotation devices are allowed in the pool area.
Slides will be closed.
Drinking fountain will be closed.
Minors may not be allowed without a parent.
These are just some of the changes to prepare for, and there may be others.

The pool staff has additional responsibilities.  Gate entry, check-in area, and restrooms will be disinfected hourly.  Stands, handrails, surfaces, restrooms, pump rooms, guardrooms, doors will be disinfected each evening.  Lifeguard at the front gate will check in residents, inform them of COVID-19 policies, check waiver, confirm that the resident has/had no COVID-19 symptoms within the past 72 hours.

There could be a reservation system to use the pool. The pool will close several times a day for sanitizing.

There could be other things not disclosed here.

We are doing our best to make sure that everyone will be safe and that all CDC, State, local, and health guidelines are followed.

Please allow us time to make sure we can safely reopen the pool and review the budget accordingly.

We will update you just as soon as we get more information.

The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department is requesting homeowner assistance in addressing the low hanging trees within the Copperfield community. These low hanging branches or limbs are hampering responses to calls for assistance. The branches and limbs are damaging equipment and Homeowner’s trees.  Routes to locations have to be altered. Some locations are unable to have an alternate route, leaving no recourse but to park the apparatus and walk to the location.
Several pieces of equipment are 13 feet tall and CFVFD is requesting that homeowners trim the trees to have a 14 feet umbrella over the street.  The Department members have been instructed not to damage their apparatus or the Homeowner’s trees by driving down streets that do not have appropriate passage.  The fire department does not wish to have a citizen with a fire or medical emergency that delays them receiving attention due to having to locate an alternate route or being forced to walk to the emergency location.
